A Noodle Called Pancit

Its a Pilipino Noodle that comes in dizzying variety. It is one of the national dish in the Philippines. This food is second in popularity to rice in the country. Many people outside the Philippines think of pancit when asked to visualize the cuisine of the Philippines, and this noodle dish is often the first introduction to the rich culinary tradition of this country.

The convenience and simplicity of this starchy food is the key to its popularity in this country. It is the ultimate convenient food for the Filipinos especially with the new generation. With the abundant supplies of instant noodles in every part of the Philippines it is so easy to prepare.

According to stories, Chinese came to Philippines to trade with the natives way before the Spanish colonisation on 1521.

The origin of Pancit is obviously came from China. According to wikipedia the term pancit is derived from the Hokkien pian i sit (Chinese: 便ê食; POJ: piān-ê-si̍t) which means "something conveniently cooked fast.
